Hi, I’m Sarah, the founder of The Background Desk. I specialise in providing seamless virtual assistant support to small business owners, helping them stay organised, efficient, and focused on what truly matters - growing their business.

With a background in teaching and charity leadership (including writing and maintaining websites and socials, managing orders, organising events and all the admin that entails) I thrive on tackling the behind-the-scenes tasks that keep businesses running smoothly. Whether it's managing emails, handling social media, updating websites, or streamlining workflows, I take care of the details so you don’t have to.

I believe that every business deserves reliable, discreet, and highly efficient support. My strengths lie in organization, reliability, and creativity, ensuring that your business operations feel effortless. When I’m not working behind the scenes to support small businesses, you’ll find me enjoying the calm of country living, taking long dog walks, or playing tennis. I dabble in art - especially painting - and love exploring new creative hobbies.

When the opportunity arises, I enjoy skiing in the winter, walking in the hills and spending time on the beautiful beaches of Cornwall all year round!

As a mum of two teenage boys, I love being busy - the busiest people are often the most efficient—when there’s always something to juggle, you learn to make every moment count.
